Business Case Study: Helping A Customer Bring New Product to Market
The customer is a manufacturer of horseshoes designed for horses with damaged hooves that cannot be traditionally shoed. They also were looking to establish a line of lightweight racing shoes.
The customer had been working with different manufacturers, including one in Mexico in an effort to manufacture horseshoes and bring them to the market. They problems they had were two-fold. First, they couldn't find a manufacturer that could meet the production requirements and second they couldn't get the quality of shoe they required. Because the shoes were difficult to manufacture, previous attempts resulted in either way too little production to meet quality concerns, or poor quality shoes.
Plan Tech solved both problems by looking at the whole process. We designed and built new molds as well as new equipment to cast the parts. These solutions allowed Plan Tech to not only meet the production requirement but to also build horseshoes that meet the customer's strict quality demands. Plan Tech took over the entire production process to give the customer a single vendor solution.
Our customer was able to meet his own customer's demands for both quantity and quality and begin selling his shoe internationally and introduce a race version of the shoe as well.
